SOME THOUGHTS IN EARLY AUGUST, 2021

1. ବଡ଼ିଭୋରରେ ପ୍ରାୟ ଅଧଘଣ୍ଟା ପହଁରାଟିଏ ଧରି ଆମ ଅଂଚଳର ମହାଦେବ ମନ୍ଦିର ଚାରିପଟ ପହଁରିବା ତାର ଦୈନନ୍ଦିନ କାମ | ଲୋକଟି କହୁଥିଲା ସେ ଅବିବାହିତ ; ଦଶବର୍ଷ ହେବ ଏଇ କାମ କରୁଛି ; ମନ୍ଦିର ପରିବେଶ ସଫା ହେଲାପରେ ଠାକୁରଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ଫୁଲ ବେଲପତ୍ର ପିତଳ ଥାଳିରେ ସଜାଡ଼ିବ | ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣ ଆସିବା ଆଗରୁ ଏଇସବୁ କାମ କଲାପରେ ସେ ଯିବ ବାଲିଅନ୍ତା ତହସିଲ ର କେଉଁ ଆରଆଇ ସର୍କଲ ଅଫିସ କୁ | ସେଠି ସେ ଚପରାଶି କାମ କରେ | ତା ଏକାଗ୍ରତା ମୋତେ ଭଲ ଲାଗେ | 2. ତାହେଲେ ପରିବା ଶାଗ ଭଳି ଶନି ରବି ଦିଅଁ ଦର୍ଶନ ବି ହବନି | 3. ବର୍ଷା ନାହିଁ ; ଜଳସେଚନ ବ୍ୟବସ୍ଥା ସୀମିତ ; ଏଣେ ଡାକ୍ତରଖାନା କୋଠା ପାଇଁ ନଦୀ ପୋତା ହେଉଛି | ଆଗକୁ ଆମ ନଦୀ ନାଳ କେବଳ ବାଲି ଯୋଗେଇବ ଭଳି ଲାଗୁଚି | 4. କାଲି ଜାତୀୟ ହସ୍ତତନ୍ତ ଦିବସ ଥିଲା | ଆମ କୁଶଳୀ ବୁଣାକାର ମାନଙ୍କୁ ଶୁଭେଚ୍ଛା ଜଣେଇବା ଓ ହାତବୁଣା ଲୁଗା ପ୍ରତି ମୋର ରୁଚି ପ୍ରଦର୍ଶନ ପାଇଁ ଗୋଟିଏ ହାତବୁଣା ଲୁଗାରେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ଜାମା ପିନ୍ଧି ଗୋଟିଏ ସେଲ୍ଫି ଉଠାଇ ସୋସାଲ ମିଡିଆରେ ପ୍ରକାଶ କରିଥିଲି | ଆଜି ସକାଳେ ବୁଲିବାବେଳେ ଜଣେ ବନ୍ଧୁ ଫଟୋଟି ଭଲ ହେଇଥିବା କହିଲେ | ମୁଁ ହସି ତାଙ୍କୁ ହସ୍ତତନ୍ତ ଲୁଗା ଓ ଖଦି ର ପ୍ରଭେଦ ପଚାରିଲି | ସେ ମୋ ମୁହଁକୁ କିଛି ସମୟ ଚାହିଁ ହସି କହିଲେ ସେ ହଠାତ କହି ପାରିବେନି |(8/8/21) 5. “କୌଣସି ସାଂଗ ନଥାଇ ଏକୁଟିଆ ବଡି ସକାଳେ ନିରୋଳା ରାସ୍ତାରେ ଘଂଟେ ଚାଲିବା କଷ୍ଟକର ହେଉନି ?” ଏକୁଟିଆ ଚାଲୁଥିବା ନୂଆ ଲୋକଟି ଆଜି ପଚାରିଲା । “ଠାକୁରଂକ ସାଂଗରେ ଗପସପ କଲେ ଏକୁଟିଆ ଲାଗେନି,” ମୁଁ କହିଲି । ସେ ହସି “ବୁଝିଲି“ କହି ଚାଲିଗଲା । 6. Urban regeneration exercise in Temple City of Puri has only confirmed that demolition task was more efficiently executed by the Naveen Patnaik Government than rehabilitation of thousands who lost livelihood and shelter. Puri's ancient markets are gone. Puri now looks like a sleepy Tashil town. 8. How does it add value, naming an Award, a Stadium, an Airport or a University after some person or who does it help? To me, Paradip Port, AIIMS. Bhubaneswar or NIIT, Rourkela, without a Naamkaran, looks glorious. 9. Now that Hockey Matches in Tokyo Olympis are over, let's look at the status of Sports in general and Hockey, in particular, in Odisha. Astro-turf promised years ago for each of 17 Blocks of Sundargarh is yet to come. Play-fields ,like Gochar,in Odisha don't inspire confidence. Come on, let's make atleast BJB College ground playable. There are 339 Events in Olympics this year. 37 are on Swimming and 2 in Hockey. Why does not Odisha Government look at Swimming seriously and promote it. USA swimmer Michael Phelps's haul of 23 gold medals between 2004–2016 is the most out of all sports. True, it does take years to develop a Game and bring it to the level of Olympics standards. But let us recall that about 35 yersa ago, during a discussion Prime Minister, Smt Indira Gandhi. had with Odisha's Chief Minister, Shri JB Patnaik and senior officials in Raj Bhavan, Bhubaneswar, the PM had suggested that sports like Swimming and Archery should be encouraged in the state. We did start Swimming Sport in the Sports Hostel at Sambalpur. We are however slow in carrying a programme to a state of excellence. With right attitude, Odisha could have grommed a few Swimmers of international standards. Archery, too, did not develop despite the sport being extremely popular with Tribal Youths. 10. ସକାଳେ ବୁଲିବାବେଳେ ନିୟମିତ ତା ସହ ଦେଖାହୁଏ |ଚଳଚଂଚଳ , ପ୍ରଫୁଲ୍ଲିତ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଟି ସବୁଦିନ ହସି ନମସ୍କାର କରେ | କାଲି ତା ମୁହଁ ମଳିନ ଦେଖି ତାର ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟ ବିଷୟରେ ପଚାରିଲି | ପୂର୍ବଦିନ ତାକୁ ଜ୍ୱର ହେଇଥିବା କହିଲା |ଅମ୍ଳଜାନ ସ୍ତର ଦେଖିବା ପାଇଁ ପରାମର୍ଶ ସେଇଥିଲି | ଆଜି ସକାଳେ ମୋତେ ଦେଖି ହସି ନମସ୍କାର କରି ଅଶ୍ୱଗତିରେ ଚାଲିଗଲା | 11. Advisable not to give in to the temptation of ruminating over lost opportunities. 12. ଷାଠିଏ ବର୍ଷ ପୂର୍ବେ ବସ୍ ର ପଛସିଟ ରେ ବସି କଟକରୁ ଭୁବନେଶ୍ୱର ଫେରିବା ବେଳେ ପ୍ୟାଂଟପାକେଟ ରୁ ନୂଆ ଘଣ୍ଟାଟିଏ ଖସି ଯାଇଥିବା ମନେ ପଡିବା ପରେ ଘରୁ ସାଇକଲରେ ନେଇ ଗ୍ୟାରେଜ ଛକ ରେ ପହଂଚିବା ମାତ୍ରକେ ସଦ୍ୟ ପହଁଚିଥିବା ବସ ର କଣ୍ଡକ୍ଟର ମୋ କଥାଶୁଣି ହସି ହସି ଘଣ୍ଟାଟିକୁ ମୋ ହାତକୁ ବଢ଼େଇଦେବା ଦୃଶ୍ୟର ସ୍ମୃତି ଆଜି ମନେପଡି ଭଲ ଲାଗେ | 13. ପଚାଶ ବର୍ଷ ପୂର୍ବେ ବେଦବ୍ୟାସ ଠାରୁ ଦାର୍ଜିଙ୍ଗ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ମଝିରେ ମଝିରେ ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣୀ ନଦୀ କୂଳରେ ଝରା ମାନେ ନଦୀଶଯ୍ୟା ବାଲିରୁ ସ୍ଵର୍ଣରେଣୁ ସନ୍ଧାନ କରୁଥିବା ଦୃଶ୍ୟ ଦେଖିବା ଭଲ ଲାଗୁଥିଲା | 14. It was midteen Me visiting Gupteswar in Koraput District. It was a unique and unforgettable experience, walking through stalactites and stalagmites in dim-lit sublime ambiance. 15. ବର୍ଷାଦିନର ପ୍ରଥମ କାଙ୍କଡ଼ ମୋ ପାଇଁ ରଖିବା ଅନୁରୋଧ ଭିଡ଼ ଭିତରେ ହଜି ଯାଇଥିବା ଯୋଗୁଁ ଦୋକାନୀ କ୍ଷମା ମାଗି ସୋମବାର ଆଣିବା ପ୍ରତିଶ୍ରୁତି କୁ ଗୁରୁତ୍ୱ ଦେଲିନି; କାରଣ ସେ କଥାଦେଇ କଥା ରଖି ନଥିଲା | ସେଇଦିନ ଜଣେ ବନ୍ଧୁ ଫୋନରେ ପଚାରିଲେ " ଆପଣ କାଙ୍କଡ଼ ଭଲ ପାଆନ୍ତି ?"ମୁଁ ହଁ କଲି | ସେ କିଲେ ବଗିଚାତୋଳା କାଙ୍କଡ଼ ପଠେଇଲେ | (August 1. 2021) 16. (i) Despite swell of affection for liquor in Odisha, large number of families remain away from it. Morning or afternoon visit to seashore has been always been irresistible attraction for such families. This pleasure Naveen Patnaik Government should respect and say No to liquor-shacks on Odisha Beaches. (ii) Let Odisha’s golden beaches not be synonyms for IMFL ON shops. Chief Minister and Chief Secretary are requested to ensure this. (iii)Let “let’s go to the beach” be not a dirty invite for Odia families. (iv)Imagine inebriated motorists on Puri-Konark marine drive. Imagine drunken Bike drivers and pinion riders on this Road. (v) Beach Shacks for selling liquor on Odisha Beaches with electricity, sewerage, drinking water facilities would be in violation of Coastal Regulation Zone ( CRZ -I ) and should not come up. ********
